🔥 Wildfires and extreme heat
Whilst many climate tech solutions focus on mitigation [ie, stopping greenhouse gas pollution], some are accepting the fact that our climate has already changed, and with that comes more flooding, storms, fires, and heat. Wildfires and record-breaking extreme heat have dominated our news stories this summer, taking hundreds of lives and leaving thousands of people homeless.
Preventing wildfires is an adaption method, but wildfires themselves are contributing to climate change more, so preventing them is crucial on both sides. Here are some articles exploring some solutions:
